sketch card puzzle card composition tutorial by katiecandraw sketch card puzzle card composition tutorial by katiecandraw
so i've seen a lot of sketch card puzzle sets lately. they can be GREAT AWESOME THINGS that bring excitement and intrigue to the trading card world.

"will bob ever find the other half of that puzzle set?" "i don't know! i don't think he knows so-and-so pulled it last week!" THE DRAMA. trading card message boards are like soap operas.

but, in my opinion… the challenge and FUN of doing a puzzle set of cards is trying to make each card work on it's own. the collector that pulls your card may not WANT to try and track down a puzzle set and he doesn't want to keep the card you drew of darth's shoulder.

i think EVERY CARD should be one that a collector can keep and enjoy on its own.

"but katie… this three card set i did was a private commission and that person will have all three cards in the puzzle when i ship them to him! one of those cards can just be Deadpool's pinkie toe because he'll have the other cards!"

tough noogies. if they wanted a 7.5" x 3.5" piece of the character, they would have ordered that. it's your challenge to yourself to make those 3 cards all work individually.

…and that's what i have to say about that.

I now want a series of cards of recognizable crotches...what is wrong with me?

Totally agree with this.

I imagined some cases where getting a "crotch" would be nice... Like a vertical 2 piece puzzle of Namor, where #1 is the torso and face, and #2 is the crotch. But then it should be drawn in a way that makes it look special and, also, it should be directed to a market one knows will like this kind of thing. A lot of guys would freak out with such a card, LOL.

Actually, now I think it would be cool if someone created this set for the laughs / for the cool factor (pick a choice).

Good thing the few sketch cards I have gotten on Marvel sets were single character portraits. Almost never can go wrong with them.

Always awesome!
I hate to collect cards without any meaning to them. "feets" or "crotches" or "hands"... u_u'

Agreed, although I admit I am guilty of some 'legs' cards - at least they were sexy lady legs XD

Is it abnormal that I now want to hunt down puzzle card crotches on eBay?
