i was asked to draw a little somethin' up of my favorite literary figure/author/character... whatever!
i picked shel silverstein. his poems and books were essential to my childhood. i'm 26 years old and reading "the missing piece" still makes me all gooey and emotional.

My wife was reading his biography the other day.

Excellent work.

Shel Silverstein!

I still read Where the Sidewalk Ends and The Giving Tree on a regular basis. Along with William Steig and Roald Dahl, he pretty much made my literary childhood.

I can't tell you how much I love this piece. Your likenesses are so adorable and totally fit the whimsy of his poetry.

Instant favorite, no question.

I fondly remember most of his work, especially "Bear in There" which I had to recite in grade school.

Excellent art :)
